The Boston Marathon is a time to celebrate strength and accomplishment. Runners come from all over the world to participate each year in the historic event.
On the other side of the city a different event is happening. It too is as revered and as prized a tradition as the Boston Marathon - observed by a certain portion of college kids - a sun loving, beer drenched, "We love 'Murica" crowd. The tradition is known as Marathon Monday but the word marathon takes on a whole new set of connotations.
These patriots celebrate freedom in the form of recklessly living in the moment, whatever that may bring.
These photos are not meant to condemn or take away from either celebration. This is merely a glimpse into another side of the Marathon Monday tradition.
